General Dealer

The foundations for General Dealer were laid when Paul Riekert and Brendan Jury were messing around on a sampler at Riekert’s Yeoville, Johannesburg flat in 1996. Before they knew it, they had three tracks together, eerie but soothing dub-like music, with playful and self-concious references to other genres. Over time, Paul collaborated in the same fashion, mostly at his own One F Studio but also on location, with Cesare Cassarino, Anton L’amour, Huyser Burger, Jonathan Neaves and Arnaud van Vliet. Finally, nine years since inception, the album High And Mighty was released under the name General Dealer.
